Flight Patterns is an exhibition of fiber art, featuring twenty-seven international artists working with fiber and fiber techniques. The exhibition is installed in the Welch School of Art & Design Galleries at Georgia State University in Atlanta, and will remain on view until July 31, 2015. The exhibition is sponsored by the Welch School of Art & Design Galleries and the Airport Art Program and is curated by Dorothy Moye of Davis-Moye & Associates.

This exhibition showcases a selection from the endless possibilities of textile art that is not only within the traditions of the textile arts, while also pushing the boundaries and definitions of the medium in concept and execution. The title and them of Flight Patterns was selected as a reference and inspiration for participating artists, referring not only to the original location at the world’s busiest airport but also to the many uses of the word and concept of patterns that are frequently used in connection with textiles.

The exhibition was originally installed for the temporary art program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, and moved to Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta in May 2015. It is shown in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary exhibition of the Chattahoochee Handweavers Guild, Velocity of Textiles.
